Mr. Billy Ray Cummins, age 70 of Columbia, TN passed away suddenly after a short battle with cancer. Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. Member of Columbia Church of God. Retired from BellSouth after 35 years. Currently employed by Maury County Board of Education as a bus driver. He was the chaplain of Star Touring Motorcycle Group and former chaplain of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Preceded in death by parents, Ellis & Myrtie Cummins and sister, Annie Mae Cummins. Survived by wife, Sandra Cummins; daughters, Lisa (Eric) Previti, Tammie (Dan) Lovett and Dana (Jeff) Harris; sister, Mary Scroggins and Betty (Robert) Slaughter; grandchildren, Jason (Ashton) Gifford, Chad (Valerie) Gifford, Lauren (Josh) Stein, Jeremy Gifford, Christopher (Olivia) Lovett, Kayla (Anthony) Walker, Zachary Harris & Morgan Harris; great-grandchildren, Karson, Kolby, Melanie, Neyland, Kylie and Karlie; step-sons, Christopher Cook and Curtis Cook; step granddaughter, Isabella Cook and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00PM Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Travis Pillow and Victor Alley officiating. Interment, Spring Hill Memorial Park. Active pallbearers: Jason Gifford, Chad Gifford, Jeremy Gifford, Josh Stein, Zachary Harris and Grayson Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers: Christopher Lovett, Current Employees of the Maury County Bus Garage, Members of Star Touring and Christian Motorcycle Groups. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
