David Lyons II

David Lyons II, age 73, of Lewisburg, TN was taken from us on July 7, 2022, succumbing nine days after injuries sustained in a head on collision. He is preceded in death by his parents David and Beatrice Lyons. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Estelle Gaudin Lyons; daughters, Rachel Matthews, Colleen Lyons, and Erin Erb; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. 

David was a husband, father, grandad, veteran, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a friend. He was proud of his Irish heritage. David was kind, yet quiet, until he had something to say. Then he would make sure you knew what he had to say. He would never turn down a chance to sit on a porch and smoke a good cigar or sneak a cookie that he should not have eaten. He loved music and would randomly bring home new instruments that “he was going to learn how to play” (which have now been donated to the local high school). He loved rocks and sunsets. He taught his daughters how to rock climb (3 points on the rock at all times!) and to love the outdoors. He embraced being a girl dad before it was cool and tried so hard to gently do their hair, even though we all knew the bows would be falling out by lunchtime. David leaves behind a rich and varied legacy with many stories that will bring joy for years to come. 

A private memorial and inurnment will be held at Faith Lutheran Church.
