Elizabeth (Betty) Crump Gilliam

Elizabeth (Betty) Gilliam, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, September 29, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She was born on April 1, 1947, in Franklin, Tennessee to George Thomas (Tom) and Grace Elizabeth Watson Crump. Betty was a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother to two daughters, and “Bebe” to two adoring grandsons. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

Betty loved the Lord and her family. She was a charter member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL.  She enjoyed celebrating special occasions and holidays, playing cards and board games and going on annual beach vacations with her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, George Thomas (Tom) and Grace Elizabeth Watson Crump. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; daughters, Angie Daugherty (Vann) and Emily Mimbs (Jeff); grandsons, Will Daugherty and Andrew Mimbs; sister, Ann Martin; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside Service will be on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 12:00 noon at Spring Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at SPRING HILL MEMORIAL PARK, FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 5239 Main Street, Spring Hill, Tennessee 37174.    931-486-0059

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama.
