Elva Jean Key Vermillion, age 84, of Columbia, TN, passed away on Sunday August 21, 2022, at Williamson Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1938, in Virgil, Kansas the daughter of Edgar Lee and Selma Kinley Key. She graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont, Kansas. She married Robert E. Vermillion on May 29, 1958, at Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 2002. They moved to Columbus, Kansas from Coffeyville, Kansas and raised their family. Jean retired as a church secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, Kansas. Additional survivors include, one son Robert Timothy Vermillion of Tyler Texas, and two daughters Dawn Craig (Ronnie) of Carl Junction, Missouri, Dana Reinhart (Kevin) of Columbia, Tennessee, two sisters Margaret Taggart of Copan, Oklahoma, Ruth Clayton of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and one sister-in-law Ann Seller of Rayville, Missouri, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ronald Key, and one grandchild. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday August 29, 2022, at Davis Funeral Home in Dewey, Oklahoma with Reverend Chris Watts officiating. Burial will be held at the Dewey City Cemetery of Dewey, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends at noon until service time at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Arbor of Willow Springs in Springhill, Tennessee. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Davis Funeral Home 113 S. Osage Ave. Dewey, Oklahoma 74029.
