On Jan. 4, 2022 in the town of Spring Hill, Tenn., in the very early hours of the morning, Gary A. Luther passed away peacefully at the age of 90 after a short battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Darlene; his beautiful daughters Jeanne and Janet; and his grandchildren Gary, Cassie and Michael; and each of their respective families.
Gary was born in 1931 in Mason City, Neb. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a policeman, a horseman, a father and devoted husband.
He grew up wild and roguish on Pat and Marie Luther's farm but learned a work ethic that would make him the hardest working man. He worked for his good friend, Dan Jenkins, till his late 70s just for fun. Somehow he still found time to see and enjoy nearly every corner of the United States in his motor home with his wife, Darlene.
He could operate any machinery and pretty much talked to horses and dogs. He was no slouch at playing cards either and many are the memories his family will keep of him in his element with a grin and a fistful of trump cards.
He had amazing artistic skills and left behind art the family will all enjoy and pass on to the children. It would take a full page to impart all the life lessons he taught all his family and they are thankful. His like just won't be seen again until we all see him again.
A celebration of life will be held at Spring Hill Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Spring Hill, Tenn. in the spring.
