Giorgio Agosta

Giorgio Agosta, age 69 of Nashville, TN passed away September 3, 2017. Giorgio was born in the town of Pozzallo, a province of Ragusa, Sicily, Italy. As the owner of Italian Granite and Marble; he carried on his family tradition passed down from his grandfather, as a master marble craftsman. He has been in the U.S. since 1983 and in the Nashville area since 1997, fashioning marble and granite in homes and businesses across the middle Tennessee area. If you were to ask Giorgio his strength in his work, he would respond that he is a "perfezionista" that is, "a perfectionist". To Giorgio the finished work is an extension of himself, his life, and his Italian heritage. Giorgio was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church and two of his passions were making homemade wine and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe and Angela Agosta and sister, Francesca Savarino. Survived by sister, Concetta Agosta; brothers, Emanuel, Pietro and Salvatore Agosta; nieces and nephews, Connie, Angela, Corrado and Giuseppe Savarino, Giuseppe, Corrado and Valeria Agosta, Angela and Eleonora Agosta, Gianfranco and Giuseppe Agosta, Zaira and Piero Damonte; great nieces and nephews, Francesca, Peter, Sophia, Sal, Vanessa, Jonathan, Joseph, Franca, Carmelo and Corrado Jr. A Catholic Mass will be held 8:00PM Friday, September 8, 2017 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with visitation starting at 5:00PM. Giorgio will be entombed at a later date at the Cemetery in Pozzallo, Italy.
