Mr. Michael Poag

Mr. Michael Ernest "Mike" Poag, age 65, of Lynchburg, TN passed away March 10, 2015. A loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, a member of Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Winchester, TN, and a devoted servant of the Lord who loved his family and friends very much. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving in Vietnam. He worked for Allstate Plastering for 32 years, was a member of American Legion Post 23, volunteered a lot of time in youth athletics and was an avid fisherman and UT fan.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Frances Henning Poag; granddaughter, Abbey Poag & brother, Myron Poag. Survived by his wife, Becky Hall Poag; sons, Brian (Tanya) Poag of Lynden, WA & Tommy (Laurie) Mathis of Thompson's Station, TN; daughters, Amy (Jon) Baker of Maryville, TN & Laurie Mathis Hart of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren, Kelsey Hallberg, Jake Poag, Madison Hallberg, Daisy Poag, Rachael & Taylor Mathis, Julianna Vines, Emma Kate Baker, Delaney & Corbitt Hart; brother, David Letke; sisters, Diane Watts & Karen Chandler & numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home, Bro. Mike Awalt officiating. Burial in Spring Hill Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Mathis, Corbitt Hart, Jake Poag, Jeff, Keith & Brent Jones and Jason & John Cross. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Jones, Allstate Plastering Employees, and members of American Legion Post 23, Shelbyville, TN. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or DAV CH43, P.O. Box 2648, Shelbyville, TN.
