Patricia Warren

Patricia was born on June 28, 1927 in Whitney, SC to Mamie Louise Henderson Norris and Frank Leander Norris. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Warren Schmidt and four grandchildren: Jay William Hammond, Michael Warren Hammond, Tyler Gregory Schmidt, and Nick Heath Schmidt.

Patricia was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, William Ray Warren, a Marine Corps and WWII Veteran and a ceramic engineer, who passed away in 2015. Daughter Linda Warren Hammond and sister Mary Norris Neighbor also preceded her in death.

Patricia (known as Mama, mom, sister, and friend) was a strong and comforting presence to those who loved her. She was known for her gentle nature, rock-like steadiness, surprising wit, and long, heartfelt goodbyes. She loved music (singing, dancing, and playing trumpet and drums in her younger days) and had a sharp intellect, having attended Brevard College at a time when it was uncommon for women to pursue higher education.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel, Jackson, TN on Sunday, August 14th at 4:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m.
