Ralph Boyd

Ralph "Pete" Boyd, Jr., age 83, lifetime resident of Spring Hill, TN passed November 28, 2016. Former Mayor of Spring Hill, also serving as Alderman, member of Spring Hill Church of Christ and Spring Hill Lions Club, and coached many sports. He also served in the United States Air Force. Loved and respected by all the young people who passed through the gates of the Spring Hill Ball Park, with one of the ball fields named Pete Boyd Ball Field.
Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Gertrude Boyd; son-in-law, Kirk Little; and nephew, Greg Hatler.
Survived by wife of 58 years, Betty Jo Grimmett Boyd of Spring Hill, TN; daughters, Brenda (Dennis) Chunn of Spring Hill, TN and Judy Little (Charlie Barrett) of Thompsons Station, TN; grandchildren, Chad Jones (Beth Schull); Chase & Chance Chunn; and Maggie & Cameron Little; sister, Erma Hatler of Chattanooga, TN; niece, Linda Bryson; nephew, Charlie (Gina) Hatler; one great niece; and two great nephews.
Funeral Service will be conducted 2:00PM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Spring Hill Memorial Funeral Home with Craig Evans officiating. Interment Spring Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Dennis Chunn and Charlie Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present members of Spring Hill Lions Club, Dorris Logue and Randy Blair. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation. Visitation will be 4-8PM Wednesday and two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
